Deals By Sector (Highlights)

Technology, AI and Cyber security deals

  1. Alphabet acquired Intersect Power (clean energy and infrastructure) for USD 4.75 billion

  2. IBM acquired Confluent (real time data infrastructure platform) to strengthen it's AI and Cloud data capabilities for USD 11 billion.

  3. Softbank Group acquired Digital Bridge Group (a digital infrastructure and data-centre operator), for USD 4.08 billion to consolidate it's AI and connectivity infrastructure.

  4. Meta acquired Manus, an AI workflow specialist, for USD 2bn, to strengthen their automation and AI capabilities.

  5. A consortium of private equity firms (Permira, Warburg Pincus and Temasek) acquired investment management software and analytics provider, Clearwater Analytics Holdings.

  6. ServiceNow acquired the cyber security firm, Armis, for USD 7.75 bn, to expand it's security portfolio.


Energy and Natural Resources Deals

  1. Harbour Energy acquired LLOG Exploration for USD 3.2 bn, to expand it's energy exploration and production operations.

  2. Alphabet acquired Intersect Power for USD 4.75 bn, an investment into power and energy, speculated to be in anticipation of the oncoming surge in demand for power, as a result of expansion into AI.


Media and Entertainment Deals

  1. Netflix acquired Warner Bros film and TV studios, along with HBO/HBO Max and Discovery for USD 72bn, plus USD 10bn of debt; bringing the total enterprise value of the acquisition to USD 82 bn. Considered to be one of the biggest deals of the year.


Industrials, Consumer and Other Deals

  1. Transdigm acquired Stellant Systems for USD 960m; a consolidation of industrial components and defence technology.

  2. Cintas acquired UniFirst for USD $5.2 bn, to expand and consolidate it's services and assets in uniforms and facilities management.


Real Estate Deals

  1. China Minmetals acquired real estate assets from MCC Real Estate for USD 4.4 bn.
